| i think i'm a pretty good guy. i've always made a point of being there for my friends when they need it. i do my best to not be mean or disrespectful to people. all the things that i think make up a good person. but i feel like people take advantage of that. that i'm being used as a sounding board or to comfort. i don't ask for much in return, just that you do the same for me and that we hangout every once in a while so that i don't feel like we're only friends when you want something. is that really so much to ask for?

| i have been reading this book, "eleven minutes" by paulo coelho, and it been really pissing me off, mainly because i hate the main character. but i'm almost done it now and i realize that the reader needs to hate her so that we can be prepared for the change she makes in herself. so i just read this paragraph and i really loved it and will now post it for all to read:

| i was hanging out with my friend yatri yesterday and i came up with a question that we both found very interesting "you come to a stop sign, how long do you stop?"
anyway...
tonight was a good night for me, not only did i hangout with some fun people but i made some realizations about myself as well. realizations i should have made a long time ago.
realization #1: that the way i veiw myself is so incredibly fucked up. my whole idea of my self-worth has been shit for a long time now. i wrote something a few days ago that upset me more than possibly anything else i've ever experienced, i wrote "ever wake up in the morning, look in the mirror and wish you were just some other kid's nightmare".
realization #2: as much as i don't want to admit it, i am still dealing with the crap my fucking asshole ex's put me through. even though i know they are assholes, getting hurt that deeply by someone you care about is a total mind-fuck.
realization #3: i don't know why but i never expected to be around this long. i just never saw myself being here still. it used to be that when people would ask me what i wanted to be when i grew up that i would think "it doesn't matter what i say, i won't be around so it doesn't make any difference". and now, i'm still here and i have no idea what i should/can/will do.
realization #4: people don't know me. most people have a friend that they know everything about. i don't have one. i think this goes back to my thoughts on self-worth. i didn't think i was good enough to be respected, let alone have friends, be loved, or even be happy. and now that i am trying to fix that mentality i get very angry at people for thinking like that about themselves like that.
realization #5: i am ready for a change. and i think one is coming. i don't know in what form but i know that something will shift around soon. and i look foward to that, because i am generally not content with the way things are.
its amazing how a trip to the beach can change your perspectives on things. which is odd cause i have the ocean and i couldn't see a thing the entire time. i loved it.
